Going on our tours is a very safe option for folks with mobility. These are working farms so we do give everyone the warning that they have to be alert and stay with the tour guides at all times.
This year we are requiring masks on everyone over the age of 3yrs while riding inside the van. You are welcome to take off the mask while outside being physically distant 6ft or more.
Alaska is a tricky, fickle place when it comes to weather. If you are not in eight layers you are doing something wrong! In all reality, we encourage you to bring rain gear (if it seems like a rainy day), and some extra layers in case the weather turns south. Always wear closed toed shoes as we will be walking on farms. Good walking shoes are encouraged. Cameras are encouraged, but we will not be liable for loss or damage of said camera or other personal belongings as part of the tour.
You are about to have a lot of fun and learn a lot from our tour guides. Keep your ears open and stay close to them and they will answer all of your questions.
If you can’t make it: Our cancellation policy is as such, if you let us know up to one week before that you need to cancel, we’ll refund you in full, no questions asked! If you notify us between one week and within 24 hours of the start of the tour (that is noon before the day of your tour) then you receive 50% of your tour fee back. If you notify us in the 24 hours leading up to the day of your tour, then no refund will be given. *
*We promise, we are not terrible people and want you to have the ULTIMATE time with us. However, we have lives too, and when you cancel on us, it really sucks because then we have to notify the farmers, friends, etc. to let them know of the change of plans. Think of it as an incentive program to get you to come on our tour. That being said, if a TRUE family emergency arises, you get lost in the mountains, a float trip gets delayed or you get stuck somewhere due to inclement weather…we understand and will refund you the full amount, even if it is in the magical 24 hour before the tour start date.
We will leave from Anchorage if we have enough folks interested in departing from downtown Anchorage. Don’t worry, we won’t leave you stranded, we’ll take you back to Anchorage too. Extra charges will apply as we use a secondary pick up service. There will be an additional cost of $100/booking for downtown Anchorage pickup. Please give us a call at (907) 519-7067 to find out more information.
Our Palmer tours typically run with 4 people, while our Talkeetna tours run up to 12 people. We do offer large group packages for Alaska Farm Tours. Please call our office 907-519-7067 to find out more about our large group accommodations or personalized tours for large groups. Have a bus? No problem, we can accommodate that too.
Good Question.
Because our farms will vary from day to day, we can’t guarantee bathrooms at every stop. There will at least two bathroom stops along the way (one at the beginning, and one at a central farm). If it is an emergency, let your guide know. You’ll find that farmers are very accommodating people and usually have a hidden outhouse somewhere on their farm.
